The Trump administration is delivering real solutions to lower egg prices and support American farmers. Secretary Brooke Rollins has announced a $1 billion strategy to combat avian flu, strengthen biosecurity, and ease regulatory burdens. Unlike the Biden administration, which failed to act on repeated outbreaks, this plan provides direct relief and long-term solutions to stabilize the poultry industry and make eggs more affordable for families.
The USDA’s five-pronged approach includes:
Investing in Biosecurity – $500 million to expand proven biosecurity measures, increase audits, and deploy epidemiologists to help farmers protect their flocks.
Providing Financial Relief to Farmers – $400 million in aid to help affected farmers recover and accelerate repopulation of poultry farms.
Cutting Unnecessary Regulations – Removing burdens on farmers and consumers while working with the FDA to expand egg supply safely.
Advancing Vaccine and Treatment Research – $100 million to explore vaccines, therapeutics, and new strategies to reduce flock depopulation.
Exploring Import Solutions – Evaluating temporary egg imports and international best practices to increase supply and lower costs.
