WASHINGTON / Sept. 12, 2025/ BPALiveWire The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development showcased innovative housing technologies at its fifth annual Innovative Housing Showcase, held Sept. 6-10, 2025, on the National Mall. The event, launched in 2019 by former HUD Secretary Ben Carson, highlighted advancements in affordable housing as part of the America 250 Initiative, celebrating the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary.
This year’s theme, “The American Home Is the American Dream,” emphasized cutting-edge construction methods. Over 25 exhibitors, including Brix Mobile, Aevolve Green Solutions and the Structural Building Components Association, displayed full-scale models of manufactured, modular and 3D-printed homes designed to lower costs and boost sustainability.
Brix Mobile, based in Florida, presented homes aimed at building stronger communities through efficient production techniques. Aevolve Green Solutions showcased its ENERGY STAR-certified housing units, designed for smart-city ecosystems that integrate schools, clinics and markets. The Structural Building Components Association, demonstrated high-quality trusses and wall panels to enhance construction efficiency.
The showcase addressed the pressing need for affordable housing. HUD reports that more than 8 million low-income households spend over half their income on rent, and about 580,000 people are homeless on any given night. The featured innovations aim to reduce construction costs and expand access to safe, affordable homes.
Open to the public, the event drew thousands, including lawmakers, industry experts and community leaders.
