It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kurt Pfotenhauer, a distinguished leader in the title and mortgage industries and a valued member of the First American team.
Kurt dedicated many years to serving in key leadership roles that helped shape policy, build lasting relationships, and strengthen First American’s position. His influence extended far beyond our company through the trust, insight, and leadership he shared with so many, including his service with organizations such as the American Land Title Association (ALTA), the Housing Policy Council, and the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA).
“Kurt will be remembered not only for his leadership and professional achievements, but for the integrity, kindness, and care he showed to everyone he encountered,” shared Mark Seaton, CEO of First American. “His ability to connect with people and uplift those around him speaks to who he was and the lasting impact he made.”
Kurt’s greatest joy came from his faith and family, and that commitment was evident in everything he did. He often spoke of the love and pride he felt for his wife, Nancy, and their children and grandchildren.
We extend our deepest condolences to Kurt’s family, friends, colleagues, and the many lives he touched. He will be greatly missed, and his legacy will endure.
